The Applications Module

TeamBy the Airwave Team

We are thrilled to announce the launch of our latest feature: our new Applications module!

The FCC’s Universal Licensing System (ULS) is made up of two databases: the Licenses database, which details who owns what spectrum and where, and the Applications database, which tracks modifications to those licenses, like transfers and leases.

After a year of working with the ULS Licensing database, we were not surprised to find that the ULS Applications database had similar problems to the Licenses database. It’s extremely slow, lacks robust querying abilities, and does a poor job at showing all relevant data in one place.

The Airwave Applications module enables users to easily and quickly filter over ULS applications by file number, common name, call signs, any boundary (PEA, BEA, county, etc), application purpose, status, and dates. It intelligently parses application data to build comprehensible titles and descriptions that people can actually understand.

As we integrate our comprehensive license ownership data with the new Applications dataset, Airwave customers will gain access to spectrum insights that were nearly impossible to obtain before.
